Why is Danse spelt with an S?

The band take their name from a piece of music named "Danse Macabre". The band name is spelt with an S in homage to the song as well as to avoid confusion with the song "Dance of the Dead!"

Who is Sapsorrow?

"She was a real person, and she really died but I wouldn’t like to say too much about it. I didn’t know her at all well but her death seamed to sum up all life’s tragedies for me a lot. I’m not going into in because I don’t want to upset anyone. The song is a tribute, in my opinion, but we all interpret things differently don’t we? Darkit is the name of Benjamin Wofe’s Harp. The name came to Mr. Wolfe in a vision.

No. It doesn’t matter how many times you ask, they’re still not Irish. There’s plenty of Celtic blood in the band though.
