THE ALBUM IS FINISHED!
That’s right, we finally killed
the monster. On the 18th of Febuary 2007 the new album was complete, after two years of fierce writing and 364 years
of practice.
Needless to say, it’s well worth
the wait. And we hope you agree, because we're making you wait another couple of months until the release party. Sorry.
But we will be playing some of the new material at our
gigs, so show us love and come and see the greatest Gothic Folk Band to come out of Lancashire since 1643.

Danse of the Dead Reviewed

R.I.P. Good Times
From Blackpool and described by
Zargo the Wyrd as the most unusual band to come out of Blackpool and the only Gothic folk band in Lancashire since 1643 –
the time of Mr. Winstanley and our Digger friends. This looks a little unusual with lots of plastic confetti pieces of cats
and R.I.P. Gravestones – give it a spin. First track is a really nice and mellow sounding song which is very much like
The Levellers. Not a lot of information accompanies the CD however a bit of googling unearthed the fact that they have approximately
five members, are on CDbaby and can be contacted by email at mailto:danseofthedead@yahoo.co.uk and have their own website at http://www.danseofthedead.co.nr
The first of the three tracks
on the CD is the best, and the singer has quite an enchanting voice – would like to learn more about em. 7/10
The Darkit E.P.
Oh well the highter order who overlooks
all matters related to Zargo and his cult must have read the last review. Didn’t take him long for him to furnish me
with yet more sacrificial offerings from DotD as I unearth another of their CDs nestling in my (now fortunately reducing)
pile of demos. Another 3 track offering from Zargo and his 3 friends (Benjamin Wolfe, Mr Swan and the Lady Zowie).
More of the same really –
it makes me think of the cartoon version of C.S Lewis’ “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” – where
all the demons mob up and attack Aslan for some reason. The vocalist really does sound like Mark Chadwick from The Levellers.
Like it. 7/10.

Mr Wyrd has spoken. Read the latest blog entry at http://www.myspace.com/danseofthedeaddotdDanse of the Dead on CD Baby Danse of the Dead's latest offering, The Darkit e.p, has now sold out! The
band are still busy with new material, but for those of you who were unable to aquire the previous releases we
are releasing a limited edition 6 track CD of the songs from "R.I.P. Good Times" and "The Darkit e.p" As well
as being able to buy the new CD online, cdbaby.com also allows visiters to download free Danse of the Dead samples! Now
you have no excuses for failing to convert your friends and family to the joys (and terrors) of Gothic Folk! Buy
the new cd at http://cdbaby.com/cd/danseDanse of the Dead at Beautiful Days As many of you know, the diabolical plan to form Danse of the Dead
was born of the minds of Mr Wyrd and Benjamin Wolfe at the Levellers' own music festival, Beautiful Days in Escot,
Devon. It seems only right that Danse of the Dead should play at the 2006 festival, and, as fate would have
it, Virtual Festivals (Co-organisers of the event.) are running a competition for unsigned bands to have the opportunity
to play on the main stage. The band have entered, simply by sending in a CD, and all we have to do now is
wait ... But for be it from us to turn off the pressure! We need your help to get Danse of the Dead to Beautiful Days! email:
info@beautifuldays.org to tell them what a great idea it would be to have Danse of the Dead play the festival! Recording In
other news DOTD will be back in the studio on the 11th February to record new material for their album, due for release
in October.

Danse of the Dead has a Myspace! YAY! It took me a while to get it up, seeing as how Mr. Wyrd had tried to do it before,
but failed to realize that there are separate myspace accounts for bands. Well, here's the link: www.myspace.com/danseofthedeaddotd
Woo! I have one song up there now. I will update the myspace as well as the website, meaning you wont have to check both
for news. Whichever one you like best, just check it!
Also, this website has a new URL. You can still type in what you do now, it will work, but to make things easier I got
a domain name. Type in www.danseofthedead.co.nr and it will take you straight to the front page!

**This is also a bit late, but I'm stupid*
Another Folkin’ Halloween!
Danse of the Dead ended October
in style with a Fancy Dress Halloween gig, with support from Mr. Charlesworth music by DJ Grimly Fiendish, and free
veggie hot pot for all! The evening was a great success and the band would like to thank everyone who came, especially
those who dressed up! Runner up prizes (Organic Green & Blacks Chocolates!) went to Corpse Bride and The Wicked
Witch of the North West ... however the winner left before the prizes were handed out! Molly Noggs, we have a £10
Oddd Boots voucher waiting for you! As well as being a celebration of All Hallows Eve, this event was hugely
significant to us all, being the first time The Lady Zowie took to the stage with Danse of the Dead. Thanks
to everyone who helped to make it a great night!

to look forward to!

The Reverend Swan celebrated his birthday with an evening of Diabolical excellence on Sunday the 7th of August. The
evening featured live sets from Mark Charlesworth and Danse of the Dead and a free vegan buffet! In a church
hall of all places .... but we left without a trace of us ever having been there! Except a rather large whiskey stain
on the dance floor and a mysterious speech bubble next to a painting of the virgin Mary proclaiming “Danse
of the dead took my Virginity!”
A fantastical time was had by all and the band would like to thank everyone
who attended. But thanks most of all to the Lady Zowie, without whose hard efforts the evening would not have
been possible!
The Revered Swan and Zargo the Wyrd featured on the Blue Room website, click onto the following site to vote
for them as the best picture! http://www.facesinplaces.co.uk/Photos (Then select Friday the 29th July.) In other news, Thomas has announced his engagement to his lady Stephanie
(Who I’m told sat next to Benjamin at school until she pleaded with her teachers to move her.) We wish them
all the best. Weddings? I love weddings, drinks all around!! Which, we might add, made our previous evening
of revelry a quadruple function event! Birthday party engagement celebration, CD release and gig. What will we
think of next?... And it would seem wrong not to mention that Benjamin has acquired another motorcycle! (“Frankenstein.”)
Bigger and better of course, an ex-S.A.S. bike to be precise. You won’t be missing Mr. Wolfe in a hurry
